Visit of INS Magar to Seychelles from 22-25 April 2019

VISIT OF INDIAN NAVY SHIP MAGAR TO PORT VICTORIA

1. Indian Navy Ship Magar (INS Magar) will be visiting Port Victoria, Seychelles from 22 April to 25 April 2019.

 

2. Indian Navy Ship Magar is visiting Port Victoria post undertaking extensive Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Operations in Mozambique. During ship’s stay at Port Victoria, the Commanding Officer and ships staff will hold interactions with various authorities from the Government of Seychelles and the Seychelles People’s Defence Forces. The Ship’s officers and crew will also participate in several sporting, cultural and charitable activities during their stay in Seychelles.

 

3. INS Magar (L 20), commanded by Commander Kunal Tiwari, is the first ship of ‘Magar’ Class of Amphibious Warfare Vessels of the Indian Navy.\ She was built by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers, Kolkata and was commissioned to service on 15 July 1987. These ships can serve as Fleet Tankers, Hospital Ships and for HADR Missions.

 

Whilst in Seychelles, the ship will be docked at Port Victoria and will be open to visitors on Monday, 22April 2019 from 12 PM to 5 PM.
