High Commission of India is organising a two day Photo Exhibition on the life and works of Mahatma Gandhi at the International School Seychelles

Principle Ashish Bhatnagar welcomed the High Commissioner and spoke about life of Mahatma Gandhi. High Commissioner Gen. Dalbir Singh Suhag inaugurated the event and interacted with the students and teachers at the school. In his brief speech he spoke about the importance of learning from Mahatma Gandhi's life and ideals and gave the mantra of courage, conviction and cooperation, to the students. He told the students that Mahatma Gandhi was a great man who fought against all kind of oppressions and injustices against humanity through non violence, love and conviction in truth. He explained how Mahatma Gandhi embarked upon his fight against injustice during his stay in South Africa and his struggle for Indian independence.

High Commissioner also donated books for the school library and presented Principle with a copy of the autobiography of Mahatma Gandhi. The inauguration aims to raise awareness among the students about the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. The exhibition is a part of a two year long celebration that started on 2nd October 2018 to commemorate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and will culminate on 2nd October this year with the 151st Birth Anniversary celebrations. Several other functions and competitions are also being organised by the High Commission of India in Seychelles to commemorate the grand finale of the Gandhi@150 campaign.
